The Power of Mantras - Swami Sachithananda

“As the Dalai Lama ran from Tibet to India he passed through a Himalayan pass. He felt that enemies were following him and he wanted to stop them, so he and his lamas chanted some sacred formulas that produced dense clouds and heavy rain. In such heavy rain, the enemies were not able to cross the pass. One of the Dalai Lama’s personal secretaries told me about this event. I believed it because, in the Hindu scriptures, there are certain mantras, sacred formulas, that can—when they are repeated in a group whose members are well versed in such practices—attract clouds. Just by repeating the different holy words they are able to do so many things. This is the power of mantra repetition.

“God bless you. Om Shanthi, Shanthi, Shanthi.”
